How parents smoking affects their children: experts said
Researchers from Kyoto University in Japan reported another harmful property of smoking for pregnant women.
As it turned out, the children of women in childbirth smoking often have problems with hearing.
These conclusions were made after the academicians analyzed the health indicators of about 50 thousand children, whose age ranged from 1 to 3 years.
It was found that in children who were exposed to passive smoking during fetal development or after birth, the risk of hearing loss increased by almost 30%.
The author of the research, Dr. Kouji Kawakami, emphasizes that the results of the study prove the importance and the need to strengthen measures to prevent smoking during pregnancy.
