Learn poetry with your child
Many children have trouble learning poems by heart. And if the child flatly refuses to even try, it will be very difficult to convince him.
The reasons, in order not to teach, the child will always find a mass. This may be a simple reluctance, self-doubt or he can be one hundred percent sure that he will never succeed, maybe just laziness, and sometimes there are times when a child does not explain the reason and simply does not teach. This is due to the fact that the child this amount of information seems incredibly large and he is trying to isolate from the overvoltage.
In the event of such difficulties, in no case can not put pressure on the child and force him to teach. So it will only be worse to remember, even more upset, and even begin to get angry at you. Here you have to go smarter. First you need to convince the child that you did not think to force him to learn something by heart. When the child calms down and believes you, you should invite him to read this poem. After reading it, a kind of game should be offered to the child: you will read one line from a given poem, and he will have to repeat it exactly. It is one thing that makes it easy for a child to memorize and rejoice at his success, which is a strong motivation. Also, he will not be over-stressed and under stress.
Further it should be understood that the child does not understand the poem. To do this, it is not necessary to ask him himself, it is easy to find out without it: on a word or phrase that will cause him questions, he will stumble, get confused or interchange words. After you have figured out what exactly is unclear, you should carefully explain the meanings of these words and phrases, and then give as many examples as possible of their use. Visual learning is best absorbed. In addition, with such a careful approach, the child will receive a diversified development, his vocabulary will increase and there will be no special gaps in knowledge.
Next is the process of learning a poem by heart. Here the standard method of gradual memorization is applied: first, the first line, then we connect it with the second and we pronounce it. When we learned the first two, we add the third and so on until the end of the poem. Thus, the child will remember the whole poem without much stress and effort. In the future, after a few learned poems, such problems will no longer be, since the child will already be more confident in his abilities and will already know by what structure it is easiest to learn.
