Media: Prince Harry will take parental leave
Prince Harry is going to leave for two weeks his activities as a member of the royal family, which includes attendance at official events and participation in charity events. According to the Daily Mail, he plans to spend this time with his wife, Megan Markle, who is expecting a baby.
The publication quotes a representative of Buckingham Palace:
I believe that Her Majesty [королева Великобритании Елизавета II] will meet on the issue of a break in the performance of his duties.
At the same time, the Prince’s friend noted that Harry had made this decision because, in his words, “this is what the modern father does.”
A joint parental leave was introduced in the country in 2015. It provides that women can share the responsibilities of caring for a child with their partner within two weeks after giving birth or adopting a child. Mothers can claim up to $ 192.62 per week for 13 months, in turn, fathers are entitled to a two-week vacation. According to the government, 2% of fathers took advantage of this right last year.
According to Fast Company magazine, Prince Harry’s estimated state is estimated at $ 25 million. As the Daily Mail notes, his last paid job was serving in the country's armed forces, which he completed in 2015. In turn, Markl, who gained fame by performing a role in the television series "Force Majeure," refused to act in 2017.
According to the newspaper, Megan Markle may give birth as early as next week, although the child must be born in late April. Currently, the Duchess of Sussex is under the supervision of doctors. As the newspaper notes, women aged 35 to 39 years are in an area of increased risk of preterm birth, and 37-year-old Markl is in this group.
