But do students truly understand what is being asked of them. Has anyone actually taken the time to explain to them what it means to analyze something. A student told to analyze a text may provide a combination of summary and opinion. These two items, while important, do not add up to analysis. Analysis is a more exact process than simply playing critic. I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world. How else can we continue to develop in such a technical world, or in any other way, for that matter.

Without the transfer of knowledge to young minds, we will stagnate and wither as a world. Teaching is hope for better, more successful futures. Learning is hope for becoming better individuals, for gaining intelligence, and for implementing practical experiences in our future. A pair of students are given a task card describing the progression of the skill. Because these students lack this understanding they are limited in their ability to solve problems with fractions and to learn and apply mathematical procedures that include fractions. Student success depends on the teachers love of the material and a willingness to convey that love and knowledge to the students.
