Indian scientists have studied how air pollution can affect the weight of newborn babies.
Experts estimate that when inhaling a portion of air, which contains 10 kg of suspended solids in total, the child's weight decreases by 4 grams.
The observation was carried out for 1200 pregnant women from the Indian province of Chennai. It is noticed that air pollution affects the health of the child. So, the birth of children had heart disease, diabetes.
The main source of the appearance of particulate matter in the air, scientists call personal transport.
By the way, the weight of newborns in India averages 2500 grams.
