American scientists have identified the risk of developing schizophrenia in children, which is directly related to the intimate life of parents.

Schizophrenia is a serious chronic disease that cannot be treated.

At the moment, it is not possible to cure a person of it: with the help of medicines, you can only relieve symptoms. The disease manifests itself a violation of cognitive functions, hallucinations, delusions.

Scientists believe that the risk of schizophrenia in a child increases if the mother and father have been in sexual relations for less than three years before conception. Also, experts managed to find out what a complication of pregnancy, as preeclampsia, increases the likelihood of schizophrenia by 2-4 times.

Scientists investigated data from 90,000 children. The results are as follows: for parents whose sex life lasted a year before conception, the risk of developing schizophrenia was 50%. For people who have been in intimate relationships for two years, the risk was 30%. In long marriages, the figure drops to 14%.
