Researchers from the University of Washington in America informed on how to determine otitis at home.

According to experts, they created a unique method that helps to diagnose the disease, without leaving home, using a regular phone.

The new test has a very high sensitivity and can detect otitis in children aged 18 months to 17 years, and its accuracy is 85%.

For diagnostics, you need to place a paper funnel on the bottom of the smartphone using adhesive tape, so that it does not stick out.

The application will emit a sound with an ultrathin frequency, which is then reflected from the eardrum, and the microphone of the phone recognizes the received reflected signal.

After that, all the results will be displayed on the screen of the gadget.
